How do I know if my business has an online presence?

There are only so many hours in the day and most of them will go to running your company – whether that means manning customer service or managing inventory. That leaves little time left over for marketing yourself as well as selling items on Etsy, eBay or Amazon Marketplace (to name just a few). By building an own e-commerce store instead of relying on one of these sites, you’ll be able to control everything from the storefront and product descriptions.

How do I know if my business has an online presence?

There are any number of ways that a company can have an “online presence” such as having a social media account or blog where they post updates about their business but we consider this different than e-commerce.

If your business is just starting out, it might make sense for you to start with Facebook ads first before investing in something like Magento which requires quite a bit more work upfront. But once you’ve established yourself as more of a brand name and want customers who are specifically looking for your products (vs someone stumbling across them on Google), it’s time to move to other things that are also useful.
